Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

46 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance if he intends to make tax relief available to Irish charity organisations similar to that extended to those designated to Third World charities. [6567/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 45 and 46 together.

I have met with a body representing domestic charities to discuss the relief announced in the budget in respect of designated Third World charities. I explained the reasoning behind the decision and that I do not intend to extend the relief to domestic charities.
