Question:

62 Mr. Martin asked the Minister for Education, in respect of the 1994-95 hardship fund for third-level students with disabilities, the criteria used in allocating the fund; the recommendations of the advisory committee set up by her; and the allocation made to each recipient third-level college. [6579/95]

The criteria used in allocating the fund were as follows:

—The extent to which funding was likely to enhance or enrich the third level educational experience of an individual or group of individuals who are physically challenged.

—The extent to which funding would assist individuals or groups of individuals who are physically challenged in addressing difficulties and enabling them more easily to successfully complete their academic studies.

The advisory committee set up by me recommended that block grants be made to named third level institutions for distribution by the institutions as they saw fit.

The allocations conveyed to each recipient college for distribution to designated groups-individuals were as follows:
