John Ellis

Question:

12 Mr. Ellis asked the Taoiseach the number of people employed in the sawmilling industry in each of the years 1991 to 1994. [6898/95]

The results of the Labour Force Survey indicate that the number of persons at work in the wood and wood products sector, of which sawmilling forms part, was estimated at 17,700 in 1991, 16,700 in 1992 and 16,200 in 1993.

The corresponding estimate for 1994 is not yet available.
