Question:

75 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Health the population, number of acute hospital beds and number of long-stay beds in each of the eight health board areas. [7046/95]

Limerick East): The current position in relation to the information requested by the Deputy is set out in the table below. Acute beds refer to beds designated as such in publicly-funded acute hospitals. Long-stay beds include long-stay accommodation in acute hospitals as well as in health board geriatric hospitals and welfare homes, voluntary nursing homes and private nursing homes.
