Written Answers. - Leaving Certificate Applies.
In February 1995 my Department invited applications from schools wishing to participate in the first developmental phase of the leaving certificate applied, which is being introduced in September, 1995. It is intended that about 60 schools will be involved in this first phase.
The closing date for the receipt of applications was 23 March, 1995. The applications received are now being considered in my Department. All schools will be informed of the outcome of their applications as soon as consideration of the applications is completed. Pending consideration of all applications received, it is not possible to say if any individual school will be approved for this programme.
