Vol. 453 No. 1

Written Answers. - Official Government Receptions.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

24 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the number of official receptions hosted since the change of Government on 15 December 1994; the number planned for the remainder of 1995; the events or meetings these receptions mark; and the number and purpose of such receptions during 1994. [7957/95]

There have been no official receptions hosted by me since the Government took office on 15 December 1994. At this stage there are none planned for the remainder of 1995. There was one such reception in 1994 hosted by the then Minister of State at the Department. That event took place in Dublin Castle on 21 April, and was associated with a conference on "The Petroleum Geology of Ireland's Offshore Basins". The purpose of the conference was to promote interest in exploration offshore Ireland.
