Question:172 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will pay a hay barn grant to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim. [9239/95]

The applicant in this case received an approval in respect of a hayshed. While the completed work was inspected the structure was being used as a loose cattle house rather than a hayshed. The applicant was advised by letter dated 16 May 1994 that, as the building did not comply with the Department's specification, the grant would not be paid and that the approval had been withdrawn.
