Vol. 453 No. 3

Written Answers. - Meetings with Irish MEPs.

Noel Davern

Question:

67 Mr. Davern asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the meetings, if any, he has had with all Irish members of the European Parliament; and if not, when he proposes to do so. [9338/95]

On the occasion of my recent visit to the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 5-6 April 1995 I had a meeting with the Irish MEPs at which we had a valuable exchange of views on a range of important European issues. I meet from time to time, of course, with various Irish members of the European Parliament and shall continue to do so whenever either I or the members themselves consider that this would be useful. My colleagues in Government, of course, in their different areas of responsibility, also maintain appropriate contacts with the Irish members of the European Parliament.
