Vol. 453 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Joe Walsh

Question:

101 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for the Environment if he will make a special grant available to a group water scheme (details supplied) in County Cork to allow the scheme be taken over by Cork County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9257/95]

I understand that the group is developing proposals to upgrade the existing scheme with a view to its being taken over by Cork County Council. My Department awaits these proposals.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

102 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if funds will be made available under the village renewal scheme for an application (details supplied) in County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9339/95]

Under the urban and village renewal sub-programme of the Operational Programme for Local Urban and Rural Development, grants will be made available to local authorities and conservation groups for urban conservation measures. The objective will be to rehabilitate the built environment through the conservation and restoration of urban architecture and heritage buildings. Funding will not be available, however, to individuals for the renovation of private residential property; the property referred to by the Deputy appears to come within this category.
