In addition to the programme manager appointed by me, a special adviser has been appointed to each of the Ministers of State at my Department, all three of whom came from outside the permanent public service.
The total cost of the programme manager and two advisers to my Department in 1995, including salary, travel and all overheads, will be approximately £167,000.
