Vol. 454 No. 1

Written Answers. - Galway Housing Estate.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Question:

167 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Defence if he has requested Galway Corporation to take a housing estate (details supplied) in Galway in charge; the stipulations, if any, laid down by the corporation in connection with the housing estate; if he has satisfied himself with these conditions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10167/95]

Galway Corporation has agreed to take the roads and services of the estate in question in charge. The Department has agreed to meet the cost of the work required to be undertaken by the corporation in order to bring the roads and services of the estate up to standard.

The precise area to be transferred to Galway Corporation has been agreed with the corporation. Maps showing this area are currently in course of preparation. It is expected that the legal formalities governing the transfer will be completed shortly.
