172 Mr. S. Kenny asked the Minister for the Marine if the precise time of the disappearance of a crew member (details supplied) of the B & I vessel Inishmore on 19 September 1994 was reported to the Police authorities in Pembroke by the ship's captain; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am advised on the basis of the latest information available that the B & I authorities notified Wexford Garda at 07.25 hours approximately on 20 September 1994 that the person concerned was missing, and that the Garda informed Pembroke Police at 07.45 hours approximately.
In this regard I should refer to the response given to a similar question on 17 November 1994 which stated that the matter was reported by the captain directly to the police in Pembroke. A review of the papers and further consultation with B & I and the Garda now indicate that the information was in fact conveyed to Pembroke Police via the Garda at Wexford, who had been alerted by the B & I duty manager.
