Written Answers. - Leaving Certificates.
The certificates issued by my Department at present include a number of features designed to discourage tampering or forgery.
In addition my Department authenticates certificates on request. Many employers and educational bodies use this service which is free of charge. If anybody is concerned about the authenticity of a certificate or of a statement of results presented to them, I would encourage he or she to avail of the service. Following a review of the available options, to be concluded shortly, it is my intention to introduce a form of laminated certificate which will reduce further any opportunities for tampering.
