Question:40 Mr. B. Smith asked the Minister for Education if she will make provision to give youth organisations statutory representation on the proposed local education boards. [10207/95]
Written Answers. - Education Boards.
As set out in the White Paper the Government has decided that members will be appointed to the education boards in a two stage process. First, a core board will be established which will include nominees of the Minister for Education. Subsequently the core boards will put forward agreed nominees which could be selected, from the wider community and could include people with special expertise. The matter raised by the Deputy will be considered fully in due course in this context.
