Smith asked the Minister for Education the views, if any, she has on the survey published by the National Youth Council of Ireland which reveals that the country's youth organisations are seriously under-resourced; and the action, if any, she proposes to take to address the staff shortage problem. The Minister of State at my Department, Deputy Allen, launched the survey referred to by the Deputy on 30 May 1995. The survey now falls to be considered in detail by my Department and this will be done as quickly as possible.
The question of resources and staffing for youth services as a whole is kept constantly under review in my Department particularly in the context of the annual Estimates.
