Vol. 454 No. 1

Written Answers. - Occupiers' Liability Bill.

Willie O'Dea

Question:

92 Mr. O'Dea asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the plans, if any, he has to make provisions to protect the owners or occupiers of private property against any legal proceedings that may be taken as a result of injury suffered by trespassers. [10216/95]

The policy of the Government in this area is as set out in the Occupiers' Liability Bill, 1994, which has been the subject of detailed debate in both Houses and amendments made in the Seanad will shortly come before this House. The farming organisations and recreational user groups welcome the Bill as it now stands.
