Vol. 454 No. 3

Written Answers. - Public Relations Costs.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

177 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the names and total costs to date in 1995 and the estimated cost to December 1995 of any outside public relations professional advice which he avails of. [10714/95]

Following a competitive process, the Bill O'Herlihy Communications Group was appointed to carry out public relations consultancy work for my Department. In the period 1 January 1995 to date, the cost of the services to the Department has been £26,073.44.

It is difficult to estimate accurately the likely cost over the full year of public relations work, as the requirements will vary from time to time. The amount paid to the company will not, however, exceed £50,000 plus VAT in 1995.
