Written Answers. - NCHD Retirements.

Liz O'Donnell

Question:

115 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for Health the number of non-consultant hospital doctors who have been forced to retire from work in the past five years due to ill-health. [11044/95]

Limerick East): One non-consultant hospital doctor retired on grounds of permanent infirmity under the provisions of the voluntary hospitals' superannuation scheme during the past five years.

Information regarding the number of NCHDs employed in the health boards who retired from work because of ill health is not immediately available to my Department. I will communicate with the Deputy when the information becomes available.
