Vol. 454 No. 5

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Kenneally — the need for additional teaching resources, including a full time remedial teacher, at Scoil Lorcáin Boys National School in Waterford City; (2) Deputy Eric Byrne — the implications for media diversity of the absence from the market of the Irish Press, the Evening Press and the Sunday Press; and the consequent attempt by News International to further penetrate the Irish newspaper market; (3) Deputy Noel Ahern — the delay in introducing regulations banning the overnight parking of trucks in residential areas; (4) Deputy Mary Wallace — the transfer of that part of the grant fund for voluntary organisations which provides health-related services from the Department of Social Welfare to the Department of Health in January 1995; (5) Deputy Éamon Ó Cuív — the need for a regular helicopter service to the islands of Irish-bofin, Inishturk and Clare Island during the winter months.

The matters raised by Deputies Deputies Mary Wallace, Noel Ahern, Brendan Kenneally and Éamon Ó Cuív have been selected for discussion.
