Vol. 454 No. 6

Written Answers. - Birth Registration.

Michael Ring

Question:

104 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health the current position regarding an application which was made in respect of a birth registration by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [11165/95]

Limerick East): The administration of the registration system is a matter for An tArd-Chláraitheoir — Registrar-General — of Births and Deaths and for local registrars who operate under his general direction. I am informed by An tArd-Chláraitheoir that his authority for the late registration of the birth referred to by the Deputy has been issued to the relevant Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages and the appropriate qualified informant has been advised to attend at the office of the registrar to sign the register. A certified copy of the birth entry may be obtained from the registrar at the time of registration.
