124 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if the Garda will investigate reports that a group of men forcibly occupied a flat (details supplied) in Dublin 1 while it was being inspected by a Dublin Corporation official on 26 June 1995; and the action, if any, which will be taken against those involved. I am informed by the Garda authorities that inquiries are being made in relation to an alleged incident on 26 June 1995 at the premises highlighted by the Deputy.
I am further informed that the flat was searched by gardaí on 1 July 1995, under the Misuse of Drugs Acts and seven persons were detained. Two of these persons were subsequently arrested for drugs and other offences. The gardaí, on removing the persons from the flat, immediately contacted Dublin Corporation who stated that it would be closed for retenancy.
