Vol. 455 No. 4

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

John Browne

Question:

126 Mr. Browne (Wexford) asked the Minister for Justice the reason for the delay in having an application for registration of title completed in the Land Registry for a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if she will have the application expedited as it is holding up the payment of grants from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. [12309/95]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that Dealing No. J926/95 is a Transfer of Part which was lodged in the Land Registry by the applicant's solicitors on 9 February 1995. It is the policy of the Land Registry to try, as far as possible to expedite cases in which it can be established that special circumstances of urgency exist. On foot of what the Deputy has indicated on behalf of the applicant in this case I have requested the Land Registry to expedite the handling of this dealing and it is hoped that the dealing can be completed by the Land Registry in about three weeks.
