Vol. 455 No. 4

Written Answers. - Law Reform Commission Reports.

Kathleen Lynch

Question:

23 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the proportion of Law Reform Commission reports whose recommendations have so far been implemented, whether in full or in part; the proposals, if any, he has to review the seemingly slow rate at which proposals are implemented; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12253/95]

The information sought by the Deputy in respect of areas of law for which my Department has responsibility, or partial responsibility, is contained in a statement which I propose to circulate in the Official Report.

Consideration of outstanding proposals is being advanced as quickly as possible. In the last two weeks I have published two Bills — the Domestic Violence Bill and the Powers of Attorney Bill — both of which take account of Law Reform Commission recommendations.
