Vol. 455 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kilkenny Decentralisation Project.

Liam Aylward

Question:

38 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Finance the progress, if any, being made regarding decentralisation to Kilkenny; and the reason for the delay in having this project completed. [12175/95]

Substantial progress has been made in relation to the Kilkenny decentralisation project. The brief of requirements has been finalised and is currently being examined by the Office of Public Works. It is hoped that work will commence on site before the end of the year and that the building will be occupied in early 1997. Some delay was experienced at an earlier stage of the project arising from a reassessment of the functions proposed to be decentralised but this issue has been resolved.
