Vol. 455 No. 4

Written Answers. - Percentage of Employees with Disabilities.

Mary Wallace

Question:

45 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Finance the percentage of people with disability in each public sector grade; the variation, if any, in the percentage of people with disabilities employed in the public sector in the different regions; and the number of people who have become disabled while serving in the public sector. [12385/95]

In relation to the Civil Service, the area for which I have direct responsibility, the information in relation to staff with a disability is not held by grade or region as requested by the Deputy, nor does the data distinguish between staff who had a disability at the time of recruitment and staff who developed a disability after they were recruited.

However, for the Deputy's information following is a list, by Department, of the percentage of staff with a disability employed on 1 October 1994 (Annex A).
