60 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if he received an application for a neighbourhood youth project in Cherry Orchard, Dublin 10; if so, when it was received; and when a response will be made to this proposal. [12312/95]
Representations concerning a proposal for a neighbourhood youth project in the Cherry Orchard area of Ballyfermot were received by my predecessor in September 1994. The Deputy will be aware that consideration of such a proposal is a matter for the Eastern Health Board. The proposal was, therefore, referred to the board by my Department. I understand that the board considers there is a need for a neighbourhood youth project in the Cherry Orchard Area of Ballyfermot. However, the board has indicated that a more urgent priority in this area is the development of a day nursery-family centre and is currently in discussion with a local voluntary organisation to develop this project.
