83 Miss M. Wallace asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the effect, if any, the Government's recruitment embargo will have on the extension of the Equal Opportunity Agency and other bodies under his Department's aegis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12377/95]
The Government's restriction on the recruitment of additional staff has had no immediate impact on staff numbers in the Employment Equality Agency or other bodies operating under the aegis of my Department.
In the context of the introduction, in due course, of new legislation on employment equality and equal status, resource requirements, including staffing levels, will be assessed in detail and will be considered by the Government.
