Vol. 455 No. 5

Written Answers. - Doe Castle County Donegal.

Pat the Cope Gallagher

Question:

24 Mr. P. Gallagher (Donegal South West) asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if his attention has been drawn to the historical importance attached to Doe Castle, County Donegal; the plans, if any, he has for the restoration and refurbishment of this castle; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11133/95]

I am well aware of the historical importance of Doe Castle. The castle is in a good state of preservation as extensive conservation works were carried out there in the mid 1980s. There are no proposals at present to carry out further major works. A detailed information plaque will, however, be provided at the castle to assist visitors.
