Vol. 455 No. 7

Order of Business (Resumed).

(Interruptions.)

In view of the interest expressed in the Equal Status Bill, will the Taoiseach indicate when it is proposed to introduce it?

The legislation will be available for consideration in the House next year.

So much for the workers.

When Deputy Walsh moved his Private Members' Bill we moved to the business of the House proper and questions on the Order of Business should have concluded.

I call on the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht to adopt a hands-on approach to the filming in Ballycotton in the wake of the catastrophe that occurred there.

Deputy O'Keeffe is out of order and must now resume his seat.

Will the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht pick up the tab and pay the £100,000 as the film industry in the area has collapsed?

(Interruptions.)

Who will pay the £100,000?

(Interruptions.)

Order, please.

The Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht is a recluse like Marlon Brando.

I am not, We will see who is helpful and constructive.

I call Deputy Harte who has been offering for some time.

Since it is the first sitting of this House since the death of former Deputy Paddy Keaveney, I should like to move a vote of sympathy to his widow and family and to pay a tribute to him.

It is the prerogative of the Taoiseach to move a vote of that nature.
