Vol. 456 No. 1

Written Answers. - Inishmore Water Supply.

Peadar Clohessy

Question:

48 Mr. Clohessy asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in approval of tender documents for drilling at Turloughmore, Inishmore, Aran Islands, which have been submitted to his Department by Galway County Council; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12541/95]

Tenders for site investigations for the Inishmore water supply scheme, which included the drilling of test wells at Turloughmore, were approved in April of this year. I understand this work is now substantially completed and that satisfactory groundwater reserves have been found at the site.
