Question:

97 Mr. Gregory asked the Taoiseach the level of unemployment in the adult population in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10; and if there are parts of that area with unemployment rates of over 50 per cent. [13380/95]

The exact information requested by the Deputy is not available. The number of persons on the live register at Ballyfermot Employment Exchange on 25 August 1995 was 3,871.

The most recently available information on unemployment rates for small areas comes from the 1991 Census of Population. The following table shows, for wards including or adjacent to Ballyfermot, the numbers of persons aged 15 years or over whose principal economic status was at work or unemployed in 1991 and the percentage of the labour force who were unemployed:
