Vol. 456 No. 1

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Hugh Byrne

Question:

136 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the situation at St. Joseph's Primary School, Kilmuckridge, County Wexford, where, because of lack of classroom space, 22 pupils are now being taught in the sitting room of the local parochial house; her views on whether this situation is satisfactory; if she will accede to a request to meet a delegation of the school board with a view to providing for a new classroom and ancillary rooms; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13313/95]

The provision of a permanent extension, including a classroom and remedial room, at this school is being favourably considered by my Department and a decision in the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities within the next couple of weeks.
