Vol. 456 No. 1

Written Answers. - Special Needs Accommodation.

Seamus Brennan

Question:

137 Mr. S. Brennan asked the Minister for Education if she will intervene in the case of a disabled third year student (details supplied) in Dublin 16 who has been refused a continuation of his customised accommodation at the college; her views on whether the absence of appropriate accommodation is putting an unnecessary blockage in his way; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [13321/95]

Under the Regional Technical Colleges Act, 1992, the management and direction of the college is a function of the director and the governing body and it would not be appropriate for me to intervene in individual cases.

However, I have made inquiries and I understand that the student in question has been offered customised accommodation at the college.
