Vol. 456 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Appointment.

Mary O'Rourke

Question:

50 Mrs. O'Rourke asked the Minister for Health if he will have arrangements made for an earlier clinical appointment and procedure for a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath in view of the fact that this person is in constant and severe pain and cannot afford the money to go privately for this procedure; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [13664/95]

Limerick East): I understand that the person referred to by the Deputy has been given an appointment at Beaumont Hospital for 4 December, 1995. In all cases, appointments are allocated on the basis of medical priority. If the person concerned feels that her condition has deteriorated or warrants more urgent attention then she should contact her general practitioner who would be in the best position to take up the matter with the consultant concerned.
