Written Answers. - White Paper on Voluntary Sector.
As I indicated in reply to Question No. 14 on 9 May 1995, I found when I came into office that a draft White Paper had been prepared in the Department of Social Welfare. It had not received Government approval. On examining this document I considered that the material as drafted was inadequate and its focus needed to be widened. The draft also needed to reflect recent developments.
A new draft of the White Paper has now been prepared within my Department, which I am examining at present. I anticipate that I will be in a position shortly to go to Government with my revised proposals for the White Paper and I would hope to be in a position to publish it before the end of the year.
