Vol. 456 No. 7

Written Answers. - Farm Early Retirement Scheme.

Liam Aylward

Question:

129 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the qualifying income guidelines pertaining to the farm early retirement scheme, Regulation EC 2079/92, where a person is in receipt of the full rate of social welfare contributory widows pension. [14609/95]

Farming as a main occupation under the scheme requires at least 50 per cent of the farmer's total income to come from farming or a combination of farming, tourism or craft activities carried out on the holding, in which regard, a social welfare contributory widows pension counts as non-farm income.
