150 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the reason he has changed departmental policy regarding the self-regulation of the electrical industry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14607/95]
I presume the Deputy is referring to self-regulation of the electrical contracting industry. There has been no change in my policy on this matter. I continue to believe that self-regulation is the most effective means of ensuring that appropriate technical standards are applied in the interest of safety.
