Vol. 456 No. 7

Written Answers. - Wandering Horses.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

37 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the terms of reference for the forthcoming legislation on wandering horses; and the time-scale for the introduction and expected enactment of the Bill. [14572/95]

Brian Cowen

Question:

148 Mr. Cowen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when legislation to control wandering horses in urban areas will be published. [14698/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 37 and 148 together. The forthcoming Bill on wandering horses arises from a commitment in the A Government of Renewal programme to introduce legislation to control wandering horses in urban area. The general scheme of the Bill will be submitted to Government shortly. It is my intention that the Bill will be introduced as early as possible after Government approval.
