Vol. 456 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Kilkenny School.

Liam Aylward

Question:

104 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education the progress, if any, that has been made in the planning process for a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; the commencement date for this work; if her attention has been drawn to the exorbitant cost of the temporary accommodation at present provided there; if her attention has further been drawn to the appalling conditions in which the teachers and students are expected to work; if she will personally intervene to advance this project at the earliest possible date; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [14684/95]

I am aware of the accommodation needs of the school in question.

The present position is that an outline sketch scheme proposal has been submitted to the Department for approval.

This submission is, in fact, incomplete and consequently my Department has sought additional information regarding same.

On receipt and examination of this information the Department will be in touch with the school authorities.
