Vol. 457 No. 1

Written Answers. - Forestry Investment.

John Ellis

Question:

179 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the plans, if any, he has to check the source of funds used by non-nationals for forestry investment in this country; and if he will put in place a proper system in view of the danger of illegal funds being used to purchase land for forestry within the State. [15069/95]

I have no specific plans to check the source of funds used by non-nationals for forestry investment. I am not aware of illegal funds being used for land purchase for forestry investment in this country. If the Deputy is in possession of such information he should refer the matter to the Garda Síochána.
