84 Mr. J. Walsh asked the Minister for Finance if he will give the current position on the securitisation of £140 million of local authority funds to be sold off to investors; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15130/95]
The Government has approved the drafting of a Bill which is necessary to facilitate the securitisation scheme. It is intended to publish and enact the Bill in this parliamentary session. The National Treasury Management Agency is finalising the details of the scheme and hope to be in a position to activate the scheme once the legislation is enacted.
