There were 11 visiting teachers for travellers employed on 30 June 1994 and 30 June 1995. There are five visiting teachers based in Dublin and one each in Cork, Limerick, Galway, Kerry, Wexford, and Tipperary. There are currently permanent vacancies in this service in Galway, Wexford and Laois and Offaly.

A number of interviews have been held recently and more are scheduled to take place shortly. The three vacancies referred to will be filled following completion of the remaining interviews.
