Vol. 458 No. 1

Written Answers. - Lucan (Dublin) Community College.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

65 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Education the action, if any, she will take to address the pressure on places in Lucan Community College, County Dublin, where it is estimated that an additional 40 places will be required next September to meet local requirements; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [16606/95]

In order to alleviate the pressure for pupil places at Lucan Community College, my Department has approved additional accommodation. The architectural planning for the project is proceeding. The question of progressing the project to construction stage will depend on the allocation made for capital purposes in 1996. My Department will ensure that all pupils in this centre can be accommodated in September 1996 and in future years.
