Question:

69 Mr. Molloy asked the Minister for Finance if the preliminary report of the consultants appointed to examine the south Galway flooding problem will be made available to the South Galway Flooded Victims' Action Group; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16685/95]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 69 together.

A draft of the preliminary report of the consultants appointed to examine the flooding problem in south Galway has just been received. It is being examined at present by the Commissioners of Public Works. It would be premature at this stage pending the completion of that examination and finalisation of the report to make any further statement on the matter.

I intend to arrange a public meeting in Gort where the consultants will present their findings to date and answer questions on the report.

I propose to place copies of the report in the county council offices in Gort when it is finalised. I also intend to give copies of the report to the south Galway IFA and the South Galway Flooded Victims Action Group and, if they wish, to arrange separate meetings for either or both with the consultants.
