Vol. 458 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Roads.

Paul McGrath

Question:

108 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment the cost per kilo-metre to each local authority of resurfacing county roads. [16900/95]

The average costs per kilometer of surface dressing on county roads is set out in the following table. The figures are not strictly comparable as between one area and another because of variations in road widths and other factors.

Other categories of road works such as surface restoration and road reconstruction, would include elements of resurfacing but the returns provided by county councils do not lend themselves to the extraction of cost data on this element of the overall cost.
