Vol. 458 No. 5

Written Answers. - Kildare By-Pass.

Seán Power

Question:

96 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the frustration being experienced by the residents of Kildare town as a result of the serious traffic congestion in Kildare town and the lack of progress being made in relation to the by-pass of the town; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17160/95]

I am giving careful consideration to the scheme for a motorway by-pass of Kildare which has been submitted by Kildare County Council. I hope shortly to be in a position to give a decision on the scheme. In view of my quasi-judicial function in the matter, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this stage.
