Visit by President of the United States of America: Motion.

I move:

That the Dáil on its rising on Wednesday, 29th November, 1995, shall adjourn until 3 p.m. on Friday, 1st December, 1995, whereupon a joint sitting of both Houses of the Oireachtas shall be held in the Dáil Chamber to welcome the visit to Ireland of Bill Clinton, the President of the United States of America, and to mark the event in a signal manner; that the President of the United States of America be invited to address such joint sitting; that the proceedings at such sitting shall consist of a speech by the Ceann Comhairle welcoming the President, the address by the President and a speech of thanks by the Cathaoirleach of the Seanad for the address: provided that in the unlikely event of President Clinton being unable to attend the Ceann Comhairle shall be empowered to postpone or cancel the joint sitting.
