Vol. 458 No. 7

Written Questions. - INTERREG Funding.

Liam Lawlor

Question:

53 Mr. Lawlor asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht if his attention has been drawn to any funding possibilities under the Ireland/Wales INTERREG Maritime 1994 - 1999 scheme for cultural projects; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17550/95]

The Ireland/Wales INTERREG Maritime 1994-1999 scheme for cultural projects has been designed to develop links between the South-Eastern counties of Ireland and the counties of Gwynedd and Dyfed in Wales covering economic, social and cultural projects. My Department is represented on the Sub-Programme Two Grouping covering Economic Development and Tourism. This sub-programme has a specific measure relating to tourism and cultural co-operation. It is planned that the total expenditure on this measure over the life of the programme will be 16.24 million ECUs, of which 9.62 million ECUs will be provided by the EU.
