171 Mr. N. Treacy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason payment of a farm retirement pension has not been made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; if he will have arrangements made for immediate payment; the reason for the delay; the date on which payment will be made including all arrears; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application was received in this case in the local Loughrea office, County Galway, on 16 September 1995. An examination of the application showed that the transferor did not practise farming as a main occupation as required under the scheme. The application could not therefore be accepted.
