Written Answers. - Budget Leaks Safeguards.
Following the investigations into the 1995 Budget leaks a Department of Finance Office Notice (27/95) dated 19 September 1995 and entitled `Official Secrecy: Budget Preparations' was circulated. This circular reminds officials of the need for confidentiality at all times in the course of their duties and of the procedures to be followed by them when dealing with confidential information, especially of a budgetary nature. A copy of the circular was lodged with the Oireachtas Library in response to a similar question raised by Deputy Sargent earlier this month.
